Infographics
A great deal of projects on which I work is infographics. This is an area which I really enjoy since it requires translating complex information into an easily accessible graphics, that their target audience can easily understand. Infographics can be very fun and playful, or extremely mathematical. The challenge is always to come up with a visually elegant solution for something that at times is not obviously understandable.
The fact that I often know little about the content on which I work, is very helpful in that I first need to understand what I am trying to design myself, before translating it into a visual. Breakdown of information, and choosing an effective way to communicate it, are all part of the challenge.
