Portfolio for kids

For kids

A large portion of my work is oriented towards a younger audience. Some projects have been published in books and magazines, some have been exhibited, and some  remained personal projects.

Fox & Monkey, personal project.

All that jazz, exhibited at the Sharjah Reading Festival, UAE in 2017, unpublished story.

Arliquino.. with whom I’ve always had a fascination.

The sea monkeys and the whale was a personal project created around 2015. Two monkeys who are best friends leave the comfort of their home and set out on a sea adventure. I was always a fan of this particular story, but it was not to everyone’s liking. Almost 10 years later it is still part of my archives.

The circus, personal project created in summer 2016, during summer residence in Berlin.

Staying up late was created in collaboration with Bryan Zumer who wrote the story. The project was one of the finalists in the Keycolours illustration book competition, and part of the exhibition in the museum of Hasselt, in Belgium.

Mole & Frog, published with New Star Press, China in 2013.

Where the butterflies go written by Jakob Straub, and published digitally with Lighthouse press, Paris, in 2012.

A day in the sky, admittedly my first children’s book project in 2010. Even if it was never published, or received any interest, I liked the idea and the execution.

Ride my bike up to the sky,

I will kiss my room good-bye.

I will fly above the rooftops –

picking apples from the trees.

And when sun tells me it’s noon –

I will head up towards the moon.

Have a picnic,

Chase the stars,

Watch the earth spin from afar …

Ocean & swing

I wonder who

and why

and where

Had made up rules on what to wear…

And how to play,

And what to eat,

And whom to like,

And how to be…

Because when I got up today,

I thought that it might be ok

To paint my shoes bright-sparkly-red

And only make half of my bed,

And hop one legged down the street,

Smiling at people that I meet…

The sky’s getting bluer,

I take deep breath in,

I jump in the ocean,

I swing with the swing.

Today I’ll be seaweed – Tomorrow the wind,

Because there is ocean,

The ocean and swing.

Vegi sushi croc.

El paseo, published with Dar Lugar, Barcelona, 2017
