Exhibitions: Sharjah Reading Festival
In 2012 I met a representative from Sharjah Reading Festival at the Bologna Book Fair. They invited me to participate in their illustrators’ exhibition and subsequently asked me to a be one of the judges of the exhibition/competition in 2013. This was the beginning of Sharjah Book Fair, and since then I have regularly participated in their exhibitions, and was awarded 2nd place prize in 2016.
Visits to Sharjah were always very inspiring, certainly creatively – since Sharjah hosts some of the most interesting museums and galleries I have visited; however the fair was also a great point of connection for meeting other artists and further collaborations.
In 2016 Sharjah festival awarded this series called ‘the Witches’ with a 2nd place prize.
